Spirituality & Social Justice:
Abraham Joshua Heschel & Martin Luther King, Jr.

With Rabbi Or Rose

HeschelMLK

Two of the great religious personalities of the 20th century, Heschel and King became close friends and allies in the mid-1960's through their social justice efforts.  Rabbi Heschel joined Dr. King and others in the struggle for African American civil rights, and then both men were involved in protest against the Vietnam War.

  • What were the theological and textual underpinnings of the public actions taken by these outstanding leaders?
  • What were some of their intellectual commonalities and differences?
  • What elements of their individual and shared legacies remain salient today?

Join visiting scholar Rabbi Or N. Rose for an informative and joyful evening on the farm for discussion and wood-fired cob oven pizza.

This is a free event if you register in advance. $5 at the door.
